"closed source" Launchpad

People seem to not understand the whole concept of open source licences.
Most of these licences (AGPL excluded) are in effect only if you distribute the software (in source or binary form). Canonical _doesn't distribute_ Launchpad. They just run it on their servers. So it doesn't matter if Launchpad is closed or open. It could be even GPL3 already. Canonical is just NOT distributing it, so they don't have to distribute the source. Same goes for Google, Sourceforge, etc.
So stop complaining because it's just plain jealousy. They have the right to not distribute their own creation.

If anyone asks: I wrote a master thesis on open source licenses (and passed the final exam).
