Just on the heels of the Fedora Project's fifth anniversary, the Beta of
Fedora Linux version 10 (code-named Cambridge) is now available:

http://fedoraproject.org/get-prerelease

There is also a Beta contest! Test five things in the Beta that are
important to you as a user. If you find a bug *and* report it, you get
the free attention of a package maintainer on a problem personally
important to you!

https://bugzilla.redhat.com

Do your part to make Fedora 10 that much better.

Among the new, fun, and interesting features:

      * New NetworkManager with connection sharing
      * Improved printer handling

      * New icon theme "Echo", to be completed with the theme graphic
        "Solar" in the Fedora 10 release
      * Gnome 2.24
      * KDE 4.1
      * Adding the NetBeans IDE

Any advice for e1000e users?

Has the module been blacklisted? or are they using the patches floating around that reduces the (already small) risk of problems?

Sorry, I meant to note that. Just about every distributor shipping a 2.6.27-rc kernel has taken steps to avoid trashing users' hardware.

A bug worth noting from the Release Notes is... that on dual boot systems... you don't get a grub menu. I haven't had time to examine the specifics. Perhaps they just have menu turned off and 0 second pause? I'm assuming it can be manually fixed by editing the grub.conf post install?

It should be. Otherwise do file a bug report and pass on the link and it can added to the release notes as well.

You can get the grub menu by holding down your "Any" key when booting.

strangely, the grub.conf line reads
"timeout=5"
and the grub menu does not show

Actually, after BIOS/EFI finished to load, quickly press any key to display Grub menu.

In grub.conf delete "hidenmenu".
