Any word on the ov51x drivers? The in-kernel drivers only support v4l (not v4l2). The out-of-tree driver supports v4l2, but appears to have stagnated (last update 2006), and doesn't compile on recent kernels without patching.

GSPCA has support for ov519 cams already I'm looking into adding support for 0v518 and then 0v511, I have one of both laying on a shelf here.

The biggest issue is finding time to work on this. The article may give the impression I've been hired by RedHat to work on this, that is not the case, I've been hired to work on the installer (anaconda)

BTW, I have a pixart imaging with BUS ID 0x093ax0262a
Right now I only can access a very old computer I dont dare to compile a kernel here (how many days can it take ...) but I am sure it works with the spca_pac7311 driver
