The call for papers closed July 31, the conference was Sept. 16-19. "We're so annoyed that between the time of submission and the plumbers conference, we will make our netbooks boot in 5 seconds, and even talk about how we did it." Auke said that video was made the night before the presentation.

I don't recall saying that :)
The video was shot about one week before the conference, not the evening before :)
