Sound Card Driver X does not produce sound.
I dunno, maybe someone has an alarm system that runs on Linux?
Any bug causes the system to behave in a way that a user (or application writer, or administrator) didn't anticipate. So for any bug you can probably contrive some situation where it could have security consequences.
I'm not convinced that completely makes the "security bug" category useless, but it's probably true that there's more of a continuum then we usually admit.
