TRANSVERSE DEBUTS WITH TELECOM'S FIRST OPEN SOURCE OSS PLATFORM
Will Unveil New Platform for the Back Office at CTIA Wireless I.T. &
Entertainment Show in San Francisco and OSIM Conference in Berlin
AUSTIN, SEPT. 5, 2008 - Transverse, a pioneer of open source business
solutions, is officially announcing its company launch today.
Transverse is the first company to extend the true promise of open
source computing to telecom operational support systems (OSS) -- better
quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and an end to
vendor lock-in.
Legacy systems and proprietary vendor relationships are currently
preventing service providers from integrating new revenue streams into
existing billing systems, which would allow service providers to
increase profitability and deepen customer relationships. Transverse is
taking advantage of new technology innovations and the most advanced
open source projects to make complex back office support systems more
flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
Conceived by an experienced group of industry-leading telecom and
technology industry professionals, Transverse has developed and deployed
a new model for delivering complex back office support systems.
Transverse's business model centers around the design, deployment and
support services required to install its platform.
"It's not a question of whether or not open source software will
dominate the telecom back office, it is a question of when. Open source
is about the freedom to select and use software without proprietary
barriers" said Jim Messer, president and chief executive officer at
Transverse. "The benefits of open source software don't end at the
handset with platforms like Android and LiMo. We have a world-class
group of experienced OSS professionals who are committed to breaking
down proprietary barriers for communications service providers, offering
complete application agility, lower costs, choice and innovation. This
is open source and this is Transverse."
Transverse will introduce its telecom open source solution next week at
the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment <http://www.wirelessit.com/>
Show, September 10-12, 2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco,
booth # 826, and at the Open Source in Mobile
<http://www.osimworld.com/newt/l/handsetsvision/osim08/> conference in
Berlin, Germany September 17-18, 2008 at the Berlin Palace Hotel.
