... and this is just one tiny symptom. There are plenty of more important problems to fix in the education system before we get down to worrying about what kind of software is being used in schools.

You're right Posted Sep 5, 2008 21:57 UTC (Fri) by dhess (guest, #7827) [Link] There are a lot of more important problems to fix than what kind of software is being used in classrooms, or even whether computers are being used at all.On the other hand, as people with computer skills, helping schools with their technology issues is one area where the free software community can actually do something constructive. It might be a relatively small contribution, but at least it's more helpful than simply complaining about the bigger problems.
