Test case for your statement: Turkish. Written in a Latin script. Language is completely different from anything European. From anything? Actually Finnish (my native language), Sami, Estonian, Hungarian, Basque, and probably some others I forgot are also European languages (i.e. they are natively spoken in Europe), but as different from the Indo-European languages as Turkish is.
