Well, I hope Krita 2.0 will bring basic features like preview for JPEG compression when saving and color reduction to a palette for smaller PNGs. If it weren't for these two, I'd be already happily using Krita instead of the Gimp.

The trick is to export as an 8bit PNG and then use the gimp to do the final conversion. Takes no time. (you're using indexed PNGs for photography?)
