More recently, a small portion of Stargate: Continuum (2008) was filmed aboard a nuclear sub in the arctic, with the actual captain and crew of the U.S.S. Alexandria playing themselves in the movie. It doesn't count as "large parts," but it wasn't a simple cameo, either; nor was it overloaded with stock footage a la Top Gun. Greg
