Novell just released a Linux client for NetWare/eDirectory written in Java that we licensed from a company called N-X, based in Germany. It's supposed to work quite well, though I haven't tried it yet on my Red Hat 8 desktop due to preparations for our BrainShare conference taking up all my time lately.
