Good candidates would be "Dead Calm" (1989) and "Waterworld" (1995).

Moving the Data Center, a LinuxWorld Keynote from Kevin Clark Posted Aug 21, 2008 4:10 UTC (Thu) by roelofs (subscriber, #2599) [Link] Good candidates would be "Dead Calm" (1989) and "Waterworld" (1995).More recently, a small portion of Stargate: Continuum (2008) was filmed aboard a nuclear sub in the arctic, with the actual captain and crew of the U.S.S. Alexandria playing themselves in the movie. It doesn't count as "large parts," but it wasn't a simple cameo, either; nor was it overloaded with stock footage a la Top Gun. Greg
