Usage isn't dropping, those graphs are normalized to percentage. So market share of openssh
over all ssh has gone down, but I'd expect any absolute numbers would so usage rates going way
up.
It is a subtlety of language, but usage really implies "less people are using openssh", which
isn't what these charts are showing at all.

You are quite right: for this scan there were about 1.8x as many SSH servers visible on the
internet as there was in 2005. So the number of OpenSSH servers has actually increased
substantially.
