because since hardy has started with 2.6.24 it is forbidden to ship a 2.6.25 for it This is a somewhat curious policy on the part of Ubuntu -- hasn't there been a recent push to considerably reduce regressions for each new kernel release, thereby making freezes to a particular kernel version not as useful as before ?
