The 2.6.25 release seems to have more updates which also occur more often. Did something awry go during the 2.6.25 development process?

I believe the procedure for submitting fixes to the stable branch has been simplified. That's not to say that the criteria for inclusion have changed, it's just easier technically.

I do not think so. 2.6.23 also went up to .17 in its lifetime. By the time 2.6.26 is out, we
probably have 2.6.25.10, so until 2.6.27 comes out, perhaps up to 2.6.25.15 too if there is a
lot of stableness to do -- in other words, regular schedule as usual.
