Hotwire: a combined terminal/GUI for GNU/Linux (Free Software Magazine)

While it looks pretty rough, I think it's a neat effort.  

It's an interesting exploration of the problem of transforming and organizing data from
different environments.  

It is crude, however I suspect that the management and development tools of the future will
use some of the more innovative elements of this interface.
