NoTA Embedded Device Communication Architecture released as open-source
software
We have released an open-source version of "NoTA", which is a new communications
architecture for embedded devices. Publication took place during the
first NoTA
Conference, on June 11th in Helsinki.
Using NoTA, hardware and software modules can interact using a
standardized
protocol. NoTA takes concepts from technologies such as web services and
CORBA,
and scales them down to the embedded level.
The NoTA software is available under the terms of the GPLv2, or,
alternatively, a royalty-free
commercial license. We have tested the software mostly on GNU/Linux,
but it is designed
for portability, and should work on other platforms as well, such as
Symbian, eCos and iTron.
