I have an iBook G4 1GHz (which of course you can now only buy used)
running Debian Etch, and everything I need works: suspend-to-RAM takes
so little power that I can do that for more than 24h without mains
power, unless I have forgotten to rmmod bcm43xx (the WLAN module);
therefore I don't care if hibernate works. Support for external
displays in clone mode works without further ado (but I needed some
work on the xorg.conf
file). Sound works (the speakers are pretty bad, though). Battery
life is 3-3.5h (mostly idle).
