Sad, I now want to rip out my LVM setup and go back to straight-up ext3. I've had some random unexplained file corruption at power-loss, even with safety-first features of ext3 enabled. I wonder ext3 on LVM would explain it.
What about LVM?

LVM without snapshots only uses the linear target.
