Heh - unless the kid wants to play games, and let's face it, 95% of what kids do with computers will be games. In which case it's Linux that loses. I'm just pessimist though.

They will probably only be playing the freely available ones, probably flash, which have a high probability of working on Linux. Out of the box linux has more games ;-).
