Bad examples. The "GM streetcar conspiracy" is a myth. For example, see: http://1134.org/stan/ul/GM-et-al.html Likewise in the case of Preston Tucker it is not at all clear that the "Big Three" were behind the SEC investigation that killed the company. (Though of course that conspiracy theory is what was portrayed in the 1989 film, "Tucker: The Man and His Dream.")
