Why do you want a *forum*? A mailing lists (and probably added to gmane.org) would suffice.

My point is that they are turning off potential contributors by making an announcement before they are ready.I agree, mailing lists are more useful. I've seen many users asking strange questions in mailing lists after being mislead in forums by people who don't know what they are talking about.
