I don't think that is very suprising. Apple is a pro-DRM company that makes a lot of money
from using open source software as a base for launching closed software and closed platforms.
I mean, seriously. They refuse to incorporate code for a codec that is is widely distributed
and very common (as far as non-mp3 codecs go). All of it is available for free and under a
very liberal license. Even open hardware references they could use. Easy as pie. And this is
even with hard evidence that their players have been capable of Ogg Vorbis playback from the
very beginning.
The real solution to all this mess is simply not give money to a company that treats it's
customer base like driven cattle. :/

I'm no Apple apologist, I wish they'd lift their game in terms of interoperability, but I
question calling the company "pro-DRM" in light of Steve Jobs' writing on the subject last
year:
