All I'm saying is that I instantly knew what he meant even though I'm not a US citizen and thereby pointing out that even though it happened in the US, the story reached far beyond the US borders (happens pretty often on that fancy internet thingy). Besides, a bit of googlefoo would quickly lead you to articles about it.

I only noticed it was a joke after the comments about it. When reading the article it was just something I couldn't understand exactly what the writer was talking about but that wasn't important enough to care. Anyway, I said I was nitpicking on my original reply.
