This post should be sufficient proof that the Gecko folks desperately need to get things packaged up as dynamically linkable, ABI stable libraries. 17 extraneous package updates due to a single vulnerability is a bit ridiculous. Perhaps this type of thing will help drive webkit adoption?

Probably not, but it certainly is driving the 'make everything just depend on xulrunner' effort in Fedora.
