They call syslinux new ? I thought it was older than grub... (not that it matters though, it's still fine software).

syslinux newness Posted Mar 14, 2008 14:56 UTC (Fri) by michaelkjohnson (subscriber, #41438) [Link] It meant merely that it was new as the system bootloader for foresight This was enabled by syslinux being significantly enhanced for use as a system bootloader; its main use in the Linux distribution context in the past has been for the isolinux component for creating bootable CD/DVD media. Recently, features were added to make it a reasonably replacement for grub for system booting, including a "boot once" facility.
