Why on earth are they using a Linux distro nobody has heard of? It's bizarre that Asus,
Everex and Shuttle are all using odd distros (Xandros, gOS and Foresight) rather than major
distros with a real user base and some name recognition - none of these appears on
Distrowatch's list of major distros at http://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=major

I don't think it's because they are contracting for support to bundle with these systems, as
I'm sure support is unbundled.

It's probably because they (believe they) can have more influence on the
direction such a project/distribution is taking?

I must add I found it very odd to see Asus go with Xandros - esp because
it shipped a pretty outdated desktop (KDE 3.4.x). Maybe Xandros has some
big plans for KDE 4.x, but I don't see anything about that either. Maybe
it's just politics and 'we know them' or something.
