Well, here's a thought (and maybe Ubuntu has planned this already): Come next decade, the releases will have a 2-digit major (i.e. year) release number, as in ver. 12.3 being released in March, 2012. By then the release name will be somewhere around "Slimey Snake" or "Terrible Tapir" (just kidding!).
