In fact, Carol had enough class to realize that the show's time had come... even though it was still popular. (She explained, in at least one interview, that it was just getting too hard to come up with new ideas.) I've always had a huge respect for Carol for doing that. Darl, on the other hand, had about as much class as The Three Stooges. Which means, unfortunately, that we will be subjected to his re-runs for some years to come.
