I've rerun your test with similar results. However, I can't verify right now, but I'm pretty sure that blowfish is faster for some applications - I've enabled it by default for file transfer on some embedded (read: slow) Linux boxes. Where possible, I've ever enabled arcfour128 (read RC4, used with some care to avoid known vulnerabilities). Which is a lot faster than AES both on my Core2 and on my embedded MIPS 300MHz boxes.
