Amen brother! I keep hoping that Trac will sprout this feature. Why can't I run my own
personal Trac which just keeps track of all the bugs I've filed upstream? Alas, Trac seems to
be stumbling over its 0.11 release at the moment. Just not enough contributors I guess.

Just think if Canonical had decided to modularize and help Trac instead of putting untold
man-years into creating their do-everything cathedral named Launchpad?

Sigh. Oh well. Guess I'll keep hoping!

What's even worse with Launchpad is how they keep it close source.

What I understand of the move is the desire to bring launchpad.net as the center-point of
focus for the project they host. I suppose they probably fear seeing various project popping
up separate installation of launchpad (I recall reading something stating about that but I
can't find it back ATM).

We looked at "source-forge-like" tools at work some times ago ; most of them were not in a
shape that fit with what we wanted. But something like Launchpad would have been really great;
all the tools we needed, built-in with the concept of fetching upstream releases. But it's
closed. So, no bug fix from us...
