I was hoping for the new driver for Atheros chips, but that doesn't seem to be in there yet.

The ath5k driver is in the network queue for 2.6.25 - you'll see it around April.

Jon, do you know of a git branch for ath5k in the meantime?

You'll find it in Dave Miller's net-2.5 tree.

Or you could give Fedora a spin Fedora always has the latest wireless bits merged into its
kernel thanks to Linville working for us. So we've been shipping ath5k for quite some time
now.

Make sure to update to the latest kernel from updates-testing though, as that is way more
current and up2date with the wireless tree then what is currently shipped with Fedora 8.
