Yeah, that's interesting, isn't it. I think this is why LILO scans all disks that were in the RAID set at map build time (at least I think that's what it does, I may be misreading the code). So if you're booting off 0x80 and a disk fails and you swap another disk in as 0x80, it should still work. I think. (I've never had to use this in a failure case yet and I hope I don't for a good long while...)
