Of those applications listed, I've only used LiVES, and that mainly because the author did a talk on it to my local LUG, so I thought I'd try it out. I'd disagree with conclusion that it's not a serious video editing tool, though. From what I've seen, it's reasonably capable. But I'd wholeheartedly agree about the user interface. It's among the worst I've come across, to the point where I've done far less editing of my videos than I would have liked, simply because the interface gets in the way.

It's a capable tool, with a lot of promise, but it needs some work on usability. The annoying thing is that it probably doesn't need that much work. But it still needs someone to sit down and do it...
