It's worth noting that the half a million or so folks who have treated themselves to the cute little Asus Eee PC mini-laptops have found unionfs factory installed as standard. It's used to give an in-built 'lose everything and revert to factory-installed software' option. It's also worth noting that the eee PC support forums are full of HOW-TOs for removing unionfs ;-) John
