If you don't like it because it's not like Perl5, use Perl5.
If you don't like it because it's not here yet, help get it here.
If you don't like it because it's not enough like a different language,
use the other language!
For years now Perl has attracted a lot of vitriol which I believe is
unwarranted, and this story is no different.
I maintain a large script in Perl which I'll even admit, if I had to
start it over now I would use Ruby (but probably not Python) for.
If you're going to complain at least point out something specific which
the Perl porters are screwing up, and point out what you think they
should do (even if it's "I don't know how to do it better, but this
In my case if Perl6 did nothing more than make using classes and objects
less painful (i.e. more like Ruby or Python) and make hashes and lists
less stupid (scalar references for lists in lists? :P) then it's a net
bonus, whenever it arrives. Until then Ruby is perfectly fine (although
it requires much more thinking to do The Right Thing than I'm used to).
