Mandriva Directory Server 2.2.0 is available for download at
http://mds.mandriva.org

The Mandriva Directory Server (MDS) is a Free Software project that
features:
 * user authentication and management thanks to LDAP and Kerberos
 * an extensible, nice looking and AJAX powered PHP web interface called
MMC (Mandriva Management Console), provided with 5 modules: 
   * Users and groups management
   * SAMBA accounts and shares management
   * Printing management
   * Email delivery management
   * Web proxy blacklist management
 * a Python dedicated management API for LDAP, SAMBA, and SQUID (core of
the MDS and the MMC)
 * a policy system, that will allow to define users right on network
ressource

New features and improvements are:
 * DNS/DHCP management improvements
 * XML-RPC server session management
 * Brazilian Portuguese translation

To test the MDS, a VMware image based on Mandriva Corporate Server 4 is
now available on the download page:

Details on changes are:

mmc-agent 2.2.0
---------------

 * server-side session management with the MMC web interface
 * a user must now be authenticated before any XML-RPC calls
 * put back HTTP basic authentication between the agent and the
interface
 * SAMBA plugin:
   * issue a warning if NSCD is detected
 * network plugin:
   * Make "get next free IP address" feature works with Python 2.4
   * DHCP: authoritative flag management for subnet
   * DNS: allow to specify a DNS zone reader for BIND zone configuration
files (initial patch by Josef Boleininger)
   * DNS: chrooted bind support

mmc-web-base 2.2.0
------------------

 * get and use a cookie from the MMC agent for server-side session
tracking
 * a title can now be set to the MMC login page
 * browser language auto-detection on the login page
 * ported a lot of old code to the new MMC framework

 * ported a lot of old code to the new MMC framework

 * no changes

mmc-web-network 2.2.0

 * allow to set a subnet as authoritative or not authoritative
 * fix tftp-server-name option for DHCP host
 * add the next-server statement configuration for a DHCP subnet
 * option domain-name of a DHCP subnet can now be multiple
