Could this make porting the Dalvik VM to a different environment plausible?

The concepts seems pretty interesting; maybe the VM could be ported for use in more generic
embeded environment, or even regular desktops/servers?

I wonder how Dalvik compares to Parrot, the other free software register-based VM.
