That's nice and all, but can you *please* export simple 2D acceleration (blit/fillrect) to
userspace?

The code is already there. It just needs an ioctly.

Imho, OpenGL and that stuff is mostly useful for Games and the Demo-scene. Video players might
also need YUV and scalling. But with simple 2D acceleration and the framebuffer you can bring
up a full windowing environment with the quality of WinXP. Yes, i am anachronistic.

While you're waiting for the kernel to get its act together, directfb does all that already.
It does require ownership of the hardware though.
