GNU-Darwin: Apple's Darwin-9 source code release
Looks like Darwin-9 is on the Apple website. Hopefully more to come. http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/ There is a notable excitement about Darwin OS at this time, probably due to the fact that the iPhone platform is opening up to the hackers, among other things. Cheers! I noticed that no binary release is planned, probably due to Apple's unwillingness to release the binary drivers to the Darwin community at this time. The reasons for this are left as an exercise for the user. Of course the OS is unusable without the software that is being left out, and from our perspective, the missing Darwin source code. The path ahead of us is clear ;-}. -- Regards, Michael L. Love Ph.D Department of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry School of Medicine Johns Hopkins University 725 N.
