IBM will speak on how to "Scale Out File Services using Samba and a
Clustered Filesystem"; and Stormy Peters of OpenLogic will discuss the
motivations behind coding for Open Source Software in her talk "Would
you do it again for free?"

Some of the exhibitors that have committed to attending SCALE are
Novell, IBM, Plain Black,Zenoss, and Hyperic.

Some of the non-profit organizations that will be exhibiting at SCALE:

FreeBSD/PC-BSD; OpenBSD; NetBSD; and Ubuntu.

Over the last two SCALEs, the Expo has expanded to included specialized
conferences on the Friday prior to SCALE. For SCALE 6x: the Women in
Open Source conference will return for its second year, and the health
care conference, (DOHCS) Demonstrating Open Source Health Care Systems,
returns for a second time. Last year DOHCS was a single track. For
SCALE 6X, DOHCS splits into two tracks, a technical track and a business
track.

Newly added for SCALE 6X is a Friday conference on education: ("OSSIE")
Open Source Software in Education, which focuses on opportunities for
Open Source in the education arena.

If you have any experience in any of the above-mentioned areas, please
consider sharing it with the Open Source community at SCALE: the calls
for papers for SCALE and for the Friday conferences can be found at
http://socallinuxexpo.com/scale6x/conference-info/calls-f....
Submittal info for each conference can be found on their respective CFP
pages. Don't wait - the calls close on November 30th!
