*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
*KLIKIT-LINUX RELEASES FIRST BETA*
The KlikIt-Linux team is proud to announce the release of their first Beta,
code named First Flight (version 0.1-7B).
KlikIt Linux first found it's roots in 2003 when founder, Chris Medico, set
out to develop a multi-distro compatible installer mechanism. He had dabbled
with the idea of also building a Linux distro, but the timing was never
right. That is, until, in March of 2007, at that time he was noticing there
were many people not only looking for a easy to use, yet robust, Linux
distro, but a quality community to drive it. Chris decided that it was time
to revisit KlikIt Linux. He assembled a core team of people to help him
build a community while he builds a distro based on their desires. The goal?
To develop a Linux distribution by friends and for friends. Community is the
at the core of everything KlikIt-Linux does.
Said a KlikIt-Linux team member, "Ease of installation, ease of use, an
attractive GUI, and solid technology are no longer unique features in Linux
distros, these are the expectations. So, yeah, we have those things, but
what separates one distro from another, is the quality of the community. We
go to great lengths to ensure that the community has an atmosphere conducive
to the free expression of their ideas, thoughts, wishes, and to the forging
of lasting friendships. It is the community that defines us and makes us
great."
KlikIt Linux is based on Kubuntu 7.04, taking advantages of many of its best
features, and then adds its own touches such as many multimedia options that
are either built in or available with a couple of clicks from the desktop,
making it fun to interact with just like the KlikIt community. It comes with
a collection of applications, including a unique and innovative software
installer tool, that will meet most of your daily computer needs, such as
office, graphic, multimedia, and internet work. KlikIt Linux is a true
community-driven project. The community is, and will always be, the main
voice behind any decision.
