So it wouldn't work as prior art. However, the discussion refers to an older window manager named vtwm. Another influential window manager was gwm, the "Emacs of window managers" (I think the first to provide extensibility via a Lisp interpreter). But it's also from 1989, and some of the early discussion talks about implementing ROOMS-like functionality, which unfortunately makes clear that it won't work as prior art.
