DKMS is the Redhat buzzword for Novell KMPs (it sounds very much like it!). Yet another reinvention of the wheel, I might add.

DKMS predates Novell's KMPs by several years. It predates Red Hat's kmods by several years. But yes, they're of similar goals, and we worked with both Red Hat and Novell when they were designing KMPs.
