|| ||[CodeWeavers-Announce] Announcing CrossOver 6.2 for both Linux and
|| ||Tue, 02 Oct 2007 08:57:31 -0500|
I am very happy to announce that we have shipped version 6.2
of CrossOver Mac and CrossOver Linux.
Version 6.2 supports the upcoming Team Fortress 2 release
from Valve software, right out of the Orange Box, as it were.
This adds to our growing list of games that work well in
CrossOver. We feel that CrossOver is now a viable way to
play popular games on Linux and on the Mac.
It also includes some major work on Outlook, particularly
for use in corporate environments, along with a range
of bug fixes for many other applications.
For Mac users, the most exciting benefit comes from the work
Apple has done on Leopard; they have fixed a bug that allows CrossOver
to run closer to its natural speed; users should notice a substantial
speedup when as they shift to Leopard.
There are many other improvements; many of which are listed
below, in our change log.
If you are an existing CrossOver customer with an active support entitlement,
you should be able to visit our web site to download this latest version:
You will need to log in with the email and password that you used when
Once logged in, you should be able to go to 'My Downloads'
to download this release, presuming you are a customer on active support
(you can review your purchase history on your account tab as well).
If you have questions or need some help, please feel free to
drop an email to sales at codeweavers.com, where we'll do our best to
We recommend that anyone who is interested in CrossOver first
download a trial version and make sure that it works well for you;
trials are available front and center on our main web page,
at www.codeweavers.com. You can download a new trial of 6.2.0
even if a previous trial had expired.
We greatly appreciate all of the support we have received
from our customers.
We're looking forward 2008 as we work furiously
to continue to improve Outlook and add support for many more
games, as well as a wide range of other applications, including
many from Adobe's product line, iTunes, Dragon Naturally Speaking,
and many others.
Finally, I would like to especially thank our beta testers,
who contribute greatly to our development process, and the
Wine development community, for sharing all of their hard
work with us, as we share all of our hard work with them.
