Parent article: The Linux Driver Project takes off

While this work is underway, is there any chance he'll be working on a revised edition of the Linux Device Driver book? It would be nice to have a new edition that incorporated the major driver interface changes since 2.6.11. The resource here at LWN is great, but when I'm heads down coding, the book is my bible.

Hey, I'm not the only author of that book :)

But no, right now, we do not have an update planned for LDD3. We have been talking a bit about it, but there are no set plans in place at this moment, sorry.

I'm starting to ponder in it just a little bit more. I really like how the series of memory articles is working out, and I'm wondering if an LDD4 update could be done in a similar way. In any case, it's going to be a while yet...

I'm willing to proof-read it, giving feedback on both form and content. Drop me a mail if that's appreciated and the time's right.
