You don't want to use less power (watts), you want to use less energy (joules, or kilowatt-hours). Hey, way to get the comments from the pedantic grammar weenies _and_ the pedantic science weenies!

"Power vs energy" is not pedantic

In large part because Intel concentrated on power (increasing CPU clock frequency and maximum instruction issue rate) while AMD concentrated on energy (doing customer work), billions of dollars in sales migrated from Intel to AMD, and thousands of Intel employees lost their jobs. That's not pedantic, that's as practical as one can get.
