Initial ATI Radeon R500/R600 driver released

Graphics developers at Novell have announced the availability of an initial driver for AMD/ATI Radeon R500- and R600-based graphics adapters. It is described as an alpha-quality driver with basic mode setting capability. "Next steps are adding support for more hardware, RandR 1.2 support, video overlay support and 2D acceleration."
