The Maxima project has issued a call for Macsyma code. They are interested
in packages created by users to add abilities to Maxima, in a way similar
to the Mathematica packages created today. The Maxima project is looking
for Macsyma users willing to donate their code under a license compatible
with the GPL.
Maxima is a computer algebra system written in Common Lisp. It is a
descendant of DOE Macsyma, whose origins date back to the late 1960s at
MIT.
