LINUX DRIVER NOW AVAILABLE FOR 
SEIKO INSTRUMENTS SMART LABEL PRINTERS


TORRANCE, Calif. - Sept. 13, 2007 - Seiko Instruments USA, the pioneer of the 
one-label-at-a-time "smart" printer, is now offering a printer driver compatible 
with the Linux Operating System for its Smart Label Printers (SLPs).  The new 
driver works with any Linux OS that uses the Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) 
- allowing the Linux community to have an easy-to-use, convenient printer on 
their desktop, for jobs where they need single labels.  

Seiko Instruments Smart Label Printers allow users to create one label at a time 
for envelopes, files, storage boxes, bar codes and a variety of other office 
and industrial applications.  The small footprint, desktop printers can also 
make great name tags, ID badges, business and appointment cards for formal parties, 
trade shows, conferences and other business or social events. 

Seiko's flagship SLP 450 is handy for administrative staff use in any small business, 
corporate or industrial setting, providing high quality labels featuring 300 
dpi output, 2D barcode printing and graphics.  The printers can also be connected 
on a network, allowing everyone in the office to print from their desktop.

Seiko also offers a high capacity label tray, with larger label rolls, that allows 
suppliers, distributors and other industrial and business users to quickly print 
labels for shipping, inventory tags, business cards and other high volume printing 
jobs.
